The JORC Code Exposure Draft is currently out for consultation. A key area for consideration since last update in 2012 is the role of Modifying Factors. Modifying Factors can impact project viability and profitability. Factors such as cultural heritage clearance, land access (e.g. Native Title), approvals, local content considerations, the Global Standard on Tailings Management, decarbonisation targets, climate resilience disclosures, sovereign risk and political instability have gained recognition as material considerations.
